CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale against E6850 Conroe

The new 45nm CPU with new HIGH-K technology reduces gate leakage and heat. Lets compare 45ns E8400 ES VS. 65nm E6850 in benchmarks, video compression, overclocking, and power consumption.

Power Consumption

With 45nm architecture and HIGH-K tech, E8400 is rated 1.15v to run at 3GHz while E6850 required at least 1.25v at 3GHz.
E8400 is about 10% efficient on idle and 37.5% under full load.

Pros: great overclock (4G stable on 1.4v and 4.5G stable on 1.55v))
less heat (HIGH-K Tech)
SSE4 (Video Compression)
larger L2 Cache (6MB of L2)
low price (between 230 - 180)
Cons not available until Q1 2008
