Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale against E6850 Conroe

The new 45nm CPU with new HIGH-K technology reduces gate leakage and heat. Lets compare 45ns E8400 ES VS. 65nm E6850 in benchmarks, video compression, overclocking, and power consumption.


Overclocking

E8400 has great potential to overclock. E8000 family produces much less heat compare with E6000 family. We are able to run it stable on 4G with 1.4v. Thanks to the new HIGH-K metal gate and 45nm architecture.


Maximum air cooling clock



We were able to do some easy memory bench under 4.689G





Also Super 1M bench on 4.644 with 1.76v






Since E8400 is stable on 4G 1.4v, we are going to include 4GHz bench results on following tests.
